We ArchEngTech Consulting Ltd on behalf of Premier Housing Limited, are applying to Sligo County Council for planning permission for the construction of 12 No. dwelling houses, 4 maisonette apartments and 13 No. apartments in a three storey apartment block, renovation and conversion of existing two-storey building with car parking and green area, total existing building area of circa 418.31m² and the use of this building for residential accommodation to include interior alterations, new internal partitions, alterations to window and door openings on the front, rear and side elevations, external communal areas; demolition of external sheds circa 60.43m2 and 16.86m2, external tank of circa 9.57m2, and demolition of external storage of circa 9.73m2 and external garage of circa 16.82m2 both adjoining to existing Convent, and all associated site works, to the property and building known as ‘Convent of Mercy’, Lower Main Street, Collooney, Co. Sligo. The Main Building of the Convent of Mercy is a Protected Structure NIAH Ref. No. 32310011 and RPS 151 CDP on the record of Protected Structures of the Sligo County Development Plan 2024-2030. The site also contains a Walled Garden with Ref. No. SL026-170, which is listed in the nation RMP register The proposed development will consist of: 1. permission to complete renovations and alterations to the Convent of Mercy main building, the original Protected Structure 2. Conversion and use of the Ground and First floor of the main Convent of Mercy Protected Structure for 6 no. residential units consisting of 1 No. x 2 bed apartments and 5 No. x 1 bed apartments along with all associated works. 3. permission to construct 16 No. residential units consisting of 4 No. x 1 bed maisonette apartments and 12 No. x 3 bed dwelling houses along with all associated works. 4. permission to construct a new 3 storey block of apartments containing 13 No. residential units consisting of 3 No. x 2 bed apartments and 10 No. x 1 bed apartments along with all associated works. 5. Carry out all associated elevational changes, including the localised repair of the roof area on the protected structure, together with all associated site works including the provision of new walls, common areas, private amenity and common amenity space, walkways, pathways and roadways throughout the property including the delineation of external car parking areas. There will not be any increase in the floor area of the existing buildings.
