Proposal description

A waste management facility and transfer station for the acceptance, storage, sorting and export of non hazardous mixed dry recyclables including such items as cardboard, plastic, metal, glass and packaging and all ancillary site works and services. The total waste intake at the facility will be up to 24,500 tonnes per annum. The development will include: the construction of a waste management facility to include site entrance, waste reception sorting and storage building, refurbishment of existing derelict building for use as office administration building, a weighbridge, car parking facilities, concrete handstanding, connection to an existing foul wastewater treatment system, stormwater attenuation and soakway system including silt trap, petrol interceptor and all associated site works and services. Works will also include erection of boundary palisade railings and secure gates, suitable lighting, landscaping and sustainability buffer zone. It is proposed to operate the facility from 08.00 until 18.00 Monday to Friday and 08.00 to 13.00 on Saturdays. It is not proposed to operate the facility on Sundays or Bank Holidays. The development will require a waste management facility permit from Wicklow County Council
