Proposal description

For the completion of the three storey mixed use building behind the retained Main Street facade, the completion of the single storey flat roofed rear extension; the provision of an open plan retail unit at ground floor level; the reinstatement and provision of residential accommodation arranged over the first and second floors of the reconstructed building, the completion and enclosure of the partially constructed steel staircase to provide internal access between the first and second floors of the residential accommodation, the block up of the existing doorway between the rear extension and the Magmell Townhouse all within the applicant’s ownership and all associated elevational alterations, drainage, services and site development works, retention permission is sought for, the demolition of the former three storey mixed use building known as Burke’s Shop, with the exception of the retained Main Street façade and shopfront; and all construction works carried out to date, comprising foundations, concrete floor slabs, structural steel framing and flat roof construction over the footprint of the former building and a single storey rear extension, together with the partially constructed steel staircase and associated structural works above the flat roof. The rear extension extends beyond the footprint of the former rear structures and over part of the rear curtilage associated with the adjoining dwelling known as Magmell Townhouse
