RED III Application Permission to lay approximately 3.3km of 33kV interconnecting cable associated with Lodgewood Solar Farm which comprises the previously consented Tincurry and Ballylough Solar Farms (respective planning reference numbers: Wexford Co. Co. 20221309 and 20231025). The MV interconnecting cable will convey power from transformer stations across the solar farm to the Tincurry 110kV Substation. The total area required for the works is 6.63ha. The proposed project is located 2.4km south of Ferns, Co. Wexford and comprises works in the townlands of Ballycarney, Tincurry, Ballylough and Crory. The proposed project will comprise the construction and installation of the following elements: Medium Voltage (MV) 33kV interconnecting underground cables laid in triple or 6 circuit configurations; communications cables and chambers; ducting; joint bay slabs; Ring Main Units (RMUs); 2No. clear-span bridges; 6no. culvert crossings; 1no. public road crossing of the L6072; drainage infrastructure; and all associated and ancillary works related to the construction of the MV interconnecting cable as well as measures designed to protect existing habitats.This development is covered by the provisions of the Renewable Energy Directive III (Directive (EU) 2023/2413) and it is important to note that the planning application may be subject to section 34D of the Planning and Development Act 2000, as amended. When a notice issues in accordance with section 34D(b), the provisions of article 26A of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 to 2025 shall apply. An Appropriate Assessment Screening Report (AASR) and Natura Impact Statement (NIS) have been prepared for this development and submitted with this planning application
