Proposal description

(I) Construction of a Control and Softener Building, for process water, comprising of a floor area of approximately 156.6 sq. m and a maximum height of approximately 6.5 m and associated underground regeneration water sump tank with a capacity of approximately 36,000 litres. (II) Decommissioning and removal of 4 no. existing overground pressure filter tanks; installation of 4 no. replacement overground pressure filter tanks, each approximately 5.3 m maximum height and 20,000 litre capacity; associated access platform approximately 5.3 m maximum height; and associated concrete slab of approximately 106 sq. m. (III) Installation of 1 no. coagulation tank together with associated access platform with a maximum height of approximately 5.1 m, capacity of approximately 11,000 litres, and bunded concrete apron comprising of an area of approximately 21 sq. m (IV) Installation of 1 no. sulphuric acid tank and associated equipment, with a maximum height of approximately 4m and bunded area of approximately 56 sq. m. (V) Installation of 1 no. filtered water storage tank with a maximum height of approximately 6 m and capacity of approximately 100,000 litres; and 1 no. saltwater vessel with a maximum height of approximately 4.9m and capacity of approximately of 10,000kg and bunded area of approximately 28 sq. m. (VI) All associated site development and ancillary works including provision of footpaths, road paving, drainage and utility services. The proposed development is located on a site that operates under an existing Industrial Emissions (IE) Licence under Part IV of the Environmental Protection Agency Act 1992 (as amended for the Protection of the Environment Act, 2003). The proposed development is on a site which the Chemicals Act (Control of Major Accident Hazards Involving Dangerous Substances) Regulations 2015 applies
