Proposal description

Permission for development on lands in the townland of Lisbrien, Co. Tipperary (the Proposed Development) which comprises a renewable energy development as defined by the European Union (Planning and Development) (Renewable Energy) Regulations 2025. The application seeks a 10-year permission with an operational lifetime of 40 years. The Proposed Development, subject of this application, will consist of: The development and operation of a solar photovoltaic (PV) farm with a total site area of 6.9 hectares. The application comprises the following – i. Construction and operation of 22,500 sqm. of solar PV arrays on ground-mounted metal frames, with a maximum overall height of 4.7 metres. ii. Internal underground trenching, electrical cabling and ducting between the solar PV arrays and electrical invertor units. iii. 4 no. electrical invertor units. iv. Use and upgrading of 1 no. existing field access point for construction and operational access to the site.1 no. temporary laydown area. v. 2 no. control cabins. vi. 33kV connector cable network, joint bays and associated works. vii. Internal access track, drainage works, security fencing, CCTV, and all associated ancillary site development works. viii. The decommissioning of the solar farm and reinstatement of the site at the end of its operational life. This development is covered by the provisions of the Renewable Energy Directive III (Directive (EU) 2023/2413) and it is important to note that the planning application may be subject to section 34D of the Planning and Development Act 2000, as amended. When a notice issues in accordance with section 34D(b), the provisions of article 26A of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 to 2026 shall apply.
