Proposal description

Capping of the landfill will comprise reprofiling of the site with imported fill material and installation of a final landfill capping system consisting of: 150mm topsoil on 850mm subsoil on surface water drainage geocomposite on a geosynthetic clay liner (GCL) on a landfill gas geocomposite on the reprofiled landfill surface (Class 2 Fill). The works will also include the installation of a number of passive gas venting boreholes, a perimerter surface water drain, attenuation pond and outfall to the Dodder River. The Bohernabreena landfill consists of an area of approximately 2.7 hectares.
