Proposal description

The development on a 9.2 ha site will comprise (i) co-location of a soil / C&D waste recovery facility within the existing materials production yard at Aghamore Quarry, on the eastern side of the L3603 Local Road; (ii) backfilling of a 2.9ha area at the southern end of the site using imported soil and stone waste to tie-into surrounding perimeter ground levels; (iii) establishment and operation of a construction and demolition (C&D) waste recovery facility on an existing 1.8ha hardstanding area on the eastern side of the site; (iv) construction of a new waste quarantine and inspection shed (199.2m2); (iv) shared use of existing site infrastructure and services including site offices, weighbridge, wheelwash, wastewater treatment system, bunded fuel storage tanks, paved refuelling area and hydrocarbon interceptor, water settlement lagoons, workshop / equipment storage shed and paved / unpaved internal site haul roads; (v) temporary stockpiling of imported topsoil pending re-use as cover material in final restoration of the backfill area; and (vi) restoration of the backfilled landform to grassland
