Proposal description

Permission for the construction of a temporary bridge east (downstream) of the existing Blackwater Bridge on the N2 national route and temporary diversion of the N2 onto this structure. Demolition of the existing Blackwater Bridge and construction of a replacement permanent road bridge in the same location on the N2 over the River Blackwater. Raising of existing carriageway levels by up to 1m on the N2 for a distance of approx. 330m centred on the existing bridge. Re-engineer the existing access to LacPatrick Creamery and St. Macartans College bus facility to accommodate the raised carriageway levels on the N2 and all other associated site works. Removal of the temporary bridge and reinstatement of the N2 on completion of the works
