Bord na Móna Powergen Ltd., intend to apply for permission for proposed minor temporary and permanent works to facilitate the delivery of turbine components to the permitted Oweninny Wind Farm Phase 3 (Ref. PA16.316178). The Turbine Delivery Route (TDR) will originate at the port of entry at Killybegs Harbour, Co. Donegal, runs through Co. Sligo, Co. Leitrim and terminate at the consented Oweninny Wind Farm Phase 3 site, Co. Mayo. The total length of the TDR is c.188km of which c.65km is within Co. Donegal, c.57km in Co. Sligo, and c.36km in Co. Mayo. Minor temporary and permanent works are not proposed along this entire route but only at select locations. The total area of the works proposed in Co. Mayo is 5.87 Hectares (Ha). The proposed development within Co. County Mayo comprises both temporary and permanent works located in the townlands Lecarrow, Crossmolina, Abbeytown, Knockalegan, Glebe, Gortskeddia, Ballina, Abbeyhalfquarter, Knocknalyre and Bunree. The works are required to accommodate delivery of Abnormal Indivisible Loads (AIL) and will consist of: • Laying of temporary load bearing surfaces at 6 No. locations • Temporary modification to street furniture (traffic lights, bench, junction boxes, wall and part of a bridge parapet/railing) at 1No. location • Temporary removal of street lighting, bollard and tree removal at 1No. location. • Temporary removal of a wall and gate, berm regarding, hedge trimming and temporary modification to street furniture at 1No location. • Temporary removal of wall and vegetation as well as temporary modifications to street furniture at 1No. location • Temporary entrance to be constructed at 3 No. locations • Construction of a dual-purpose permanent access and public amenity track of approx. 2.7km at Crossmolina, Co. Mayo • Construction of permanent bridge crossing of the River Deel at Crossmolina, Co. Mayo • Installation of permanent lighting along the access and amenity track at Crossmolina, Co. Mayo • Installation of permanent sustainable drainage system along the access and amenity track at Crossmolina, Co. Mayo • Installation of temporary construction compound to include site offices, welfare facilities and car parking at Crossmolina Co. Mayo. • Reinstatement of all temporary works areas to previous condition • All associated and ancillary works required for the accommodation works and construction for the TDR.
