Proposal description

For a 10-year planning permission for a new 38kV substation. The development for which planning permission is being sought from Kilkenny County Council is located in the townland of Killeen. This development comprises part of an overall development for which planning permission is also sought for a 9-turbine wind farm and all associated works on lands located in the townlands of Farranrory Upper, Farranrory Lower, Coolnashinnagh & Gortnasmuttaun Co. Tipperary. A separate planning application will be made for an underground grid connection to Tipperary County Council and to Kilkenny County Council. The proposed development for which planning permission is being sought from Kilkenny County Council will constitute the provision of the following: Construction of a new 38kV substation and all ancillary site works including the upgrade of site access and of existing site tracks; provision of internal communication cables. The planning application will be accompanied by an Environment Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) and Natura Impact Statement
