Planning applications in Kilkenny City

Ormonde Homes Limited intend to apply for a 10 year permission for a proposed Large-scale Residential Development (LRD) on a c. 5.95 ha site at Wetland and Poulgour, Kilkenny City, Co. Kilkenny. The development will consist of: • Construction of 178 no. residential units including 72 no. two-storey three bed houses, 8 no. two-storey four bed houses, 12 no. three-story three bed houses, 31 no. one bed apartments, 49 no. two bed apartments and 6 no. three bed apartments. The apartments are divided into 4 no. buildings as follows: • Apartment Building 1 which will consist of 7 no. one bed apartments, 11 no. two bed apartments, and 6 no. three bed apartments arranged over 4 no. storeys. Patios/Terraces are provided on all elevations. • Apartment Building 2 which will consist of 8 no. one bed apartments and 9 no. two bed apartments arranged over 3-4 no. storeys. Patios/Terraces are provided on all elevations. • Apartment Building 3 which will consist of 8 no. one bed apartments and 9 no. two bed apartments arranged over 3-4 no. storeys. Patios/Terraces are provided on all elevations. • Apartment Building 4 which will consist of 8 no. one bed apartments, 20 no. two bed apartments, arranged over 2-4 no. storeys. Patios/Terraces are provided on all elevations. • Demolition of a habitable dwelling house of c. 186 sqm in the south of the site to the rear of ‘Grangeford House’. • The scheme provides for a total of c. 8,400 sqm of public open space with an additional 1,316 sqm of communal open space. • Bicycle Parking Provision of 224 no. long term and 47 no. visitor bicycle parking spaces. • Provision of 150 no. on-curtilage residential car parking spaces and 149 no. on-street residential car parking spaces (305 no. residential car parking spaces in total including 6 no. accessible on-street car parking spaces). • Provision of a crèche of c. 440 sqm arranged over 2 no. storeys with adjoined secure outdoor space of 253 sqm and 19 no. car parking spaces, 3 no. car set down spaces, and 8 no bicycle parking spaces. • The vehicular access to the site will be from William Robertson Way. • All other ancillary site development works to facilitate construction. • A Natura Impact Statement has been submitted with the application.
