Proposal description

Will consist of: a) The demolition of non-original structures / sheds to the north of the Protected Structure and demolition of a shed structure fronting New Lane and a shed structure fronting Church Lane (approx. 150 sqm). b) Removal of the existing fencing and boundary treatments along New Lane and The Square including the non-original render wall to the south of the Protected Structure; removal of the entrance gate at Church Lane; and dismantling of the stone wall and pier adjoining the Protected Structure. c) Dismantling and relocation of stone walls within the site to be reused as part of the the external cladding of the proposed extension to the Protected Structure and the overall landscape design. d) Partial external and internal works to the Protected Structure will include (i) the demolition of a modern extension to the rear of the Protected Structure (approx. 20 sqm), (ii) demolition of some existing internal partitions at ground floor and first floor levels, (iii) infill of a wall section at ground floor level, (iv) creation of new door openings on the northern elevation to form part of the proposed extension, (v) replacement of sash windows, (vi) refurbishment of existing internal doors, (vii) the reconfiguration and replacement of internal stairs and removal of a portion of the floor at first floor level, and (viii) the stripping of existing non-original render to facades and provision of new render. e) Refurbishment works to the Protected Structure and construction of a single storey extension (approx. 54 sqm) to the north and rear to provide a 3 bedroom house (approx. 216.3 sqm) with associated bin and bike store structure (approx. 16.26 sqm), an enclosed garden and 1 no. car parking space. f) Construction of 29 no. apartment units, a retail unit and a resident community space arranged in 2 no. blocks (A-B) ranging in height from 1 – 3 storeys (total GFA approx. 2,043.5 sqm) comprising 24 no. 1 bedroom units and 5 no. 2 bedroom units. Each residential unit will have access to private open space in the form of a balcony or terrace.
