Permission for development which consists of development on a site extending to 0.1027 hectares located at 18 Distillery Road (also known as the O’Halloran building), Upper Newcastle, Galway The proposed development will consist of the following: 1.The demolition of the existing bus stop (6 sqm) and existing building at 18 Distillery Road (also known as the O’Halloran building) (104 sqm). 2.The construction of a security building with a total gross floor area of 146.5 sqm comprising a waiting area and reception, storage facilities, sitting area, offices, workshop, phone booth, disabled WC and shower and gender-neutral toilet and showers, changing rooms and lockers, access hatch and plant room. 3.The provision of Photovoltaic (PV) panels on the roof of the proposed security building. 4.The provision of 1 no. sheltered bus stop. 5.The provision of 3 no. car parking spaces (including EV charging points and 1 no. accessible parking space). 6.The provision of pedestrian footpaths, bicycle parking, site landscaping, services, and all associated site development works. The proposed site is located immediately east of Protected Structure Ref 8501 (rivers & waterways). The planning application is accompanied by a Natura Impact Statement (NIS)
