PROTECTED STRUCTURE: The development will consist of the extension and alteration of the Protected Structure (RPS Ref. No. 6513) at St. Andrew's Resource Centre, 114–116 Pearse Street, Dublin 2 comprising of a new single-storey contemporary flat roof extension (62 sq.m) to the rear of the existing later western wing; internal and external alterations to the existing building (426.5 sq.m affected) to provide enlarged day centre accommodation including a reconfigured reception area, upgraded café, staff facilities, offices, kitchen, laundry and additional toilet facilities; works to improve universal access and fire safety including a new external entrance ramp, steps and entrance portal to Pearse Street, modifications to the existing non-original boundary wall with relocation of the vehicular entrance, minor alterations to the existing original gates and railings, replacement of the existing non-original entrance doors with a new entrance door and associated internal entrance lobby alterations, installation of a new lift within the existing original western stairwell, and a new automatic opening vent at roof level; internal alterations including the partial removal of internal walls and partitions, the formation of new structural openings, the partial removal of sections of the external masonry wall, windows and doors within the existing later western wing to form a connection to the proposed extension including associated repair and reinstatement works; and external works including upgrades to the rear courtyard with new hard and soft landscaping and level access, relocation of existing external gas services below ground, repair and reinstatement of affected finishes, and all associated site development works.
