Planning Permission for a development at the Metro Hotel at Ballymun Road & Santry Avenue, Santry Cross, Ballymun, Dublin 9. The development involves the addition of 3 No. extra floors at 5th, 6th and 7th floor above the 5 storey podium of the hotel which will now be eight storeys overall; the conversion and change of use of 8 No. existing apartments at sixth floor and seventh floor level to 14 No. hotel bedrooms; a change of use of the retail unit (152 sq.m) at ground floor to hotel use. The proposed development will result in an additional 44 No. hotel bedrooms. 3 No. bedrooms to be located at ground floor and the remaining 41 No. rooms over three floors located at fifth - seventh floor. A new rooftop garden at fifth floor is proposed at the southern corner of the hotel. The development will have a total of 132 No. hotel bedrooms and 24 No. residential apartments in the main block. The proposed development also seeks additional illuminated signage on the east and west elevations; associated external lighting, the removal of 2 No. double doors at ground floor on the western elevation on Ballymun Road and at the eastern elevation; the addition of 2 No. windows at ground floor of the eastern elevation; a new pedestrian gate and 2 metre boundary railing to the south of Ballymun Road and all associated ancillary site works.
