Proposal description

Development will consist of the upgrade of the Cork County Council Waste Water Treatment Plant (access via the Main Cork Road) and Pumping Station (access via Mill Road). The proposed development includes the upgrade and construction of a new control building & welfare facilities, standby diesel generator units and storage tanks, ESB substation, the demolition of the existing Pumping Station and sludge dewatering building (total plan area >100m²), and the installation of new inlet screening and grit removal units, new odour control units and an additional Picket Fence Thickener. The development also includes the replacement of the existing sludge dewatering building, new chemical storage tank, as well as all ancillary works including pipework, drainage, landscaping, and all associated site development and site excavation works above and below ground at Cork County Council Waste Water Treatment Plant and Pumping Station.
