The development will consist of the extraction of approximately 134,000m3 of materials comprising of topsoil and subsoil from an area of approximately 9.3 hectares within an overall site area 12.1 hectares; on-site screening and crushing of some excavated material; transport of approximately 114,000m3 of material off site to East Tip, Haulbowline Island, Ringaskiddy; remediation, reprofiling and landscaping of site with retained material post extraction. The development will also comprise a new vehicular site entrance at the location of an existing agricultural entrance to the L6517, internal site access road, and associated drainage features. An EIS will be submitted to the Planning Authority with the application.
