Proposal description

Decommissioning and removal of existing wastewater treatment plant at Whitechurch (permitted under Planning Ref. No. 99/4689) and to collect and discharge foul sewage to the existing wastewater treatment plant at Gortavaroon (permitted under Planning Ref. No. 05/1025) by way of a new foul sewer laid below ground through lands and roads at Whitechurch. The proposed sewer will serve the permitted ‘Castlecourt’ development (Planning Ref. No. 00/1238 and 00/0683), the existing ‘Castlewhite’ and ‘The Green’ developments and other development lands within the development boundary. The provision of this gravity foul sewer will replaced the requirement to construct a foul sewage pumping station and rising main sewer as originally intended by Planning Ref. No. 00/1238 & 00/0683
