Proposal description

To seek permission to renew the planning approval granted previously under planning application 16/443 for a solar farm project. The proposed development will consist of a solar PV farm with an export capacity of approximately 4.2MVA comprising photovoltaic panels on ground frames, an enclosed single storey building containing the ESB terminal station and switchgear apparatus, storage container, 4 no. single storey inverter stations, ducting and underground electrical cabling, perimeter fencing, 11 no. mounted CCTV cameras, provision of new access from R194 (and internal access tracks), and all associated site development and landscaping works. The planning application also seeks minor amendments to the dimensions of the approved substation and increase in the operational lifespan of the project from 25 years to 40 years. The proposed development site is located within the townland Carrickabane, Finnea, Co. Cavan approximately 4km to the south of Kilcogy and 1.5km from Lough Sheelin. Access to the site is proposed from the R194 which connects the towns of Granard and Ballyjamesduff. Significant further information and revised plans have been submitted.
