Proposal description

To construct new boiler house extension to existing Rendering Plant to accommodate new boiler, thus replacing 2 no. existing boilers, installation of 2 no. bio-filters and extension of existing waste water treatment system to include balance tank and aerator tank within bunded area, to meet proposed limit values for final treated effluent. Increase raw material intake tonnage from the current 216MT per day (current EPA Licence Condition) to 125,000MT per annum. Increase final treated effluent volume from the current 240m3 per day to 340m3 per day, modification to wet rendering on CAT 3 line - (DAFF METHOD 7) including installation of an evaporator to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, demolition of existing meal silo & boiler fuel tanks and associated site works. The existing EPA IPPC Licence (P0025-04) for the site will be reviewed as part of the proposed upgrade. This application will be accompanied by an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
