Proposal description

Permission for the development of a new wastewater treatment plant, pumping station, connecting pipelines and all associated equipment. The development will be undertaken at separate site locations and along the Shore Road in the townland of Knocknagoran, Omeath, Co. Louth. The proposed development will comprise: 1. Upgrade of the existing sewers and the construction of rising mains and outfall pipework along Shore Road. 2. Rehabilitation of defects in the existing sea outfall at Shore Road. 3. Construction of an extension to the existing sea outfall at Shore Road including works in the foreshore. 4. In the townland of Knocknagoran, Omeath, the works will include the provision of a new 1000 p.e. Wastewater Treatment Plant and all associated and ancillary development works. 5. At Shore Road, Knocknagoran, the works will include the provision of new wastewater pumping station and storm storage tank and all associated and ancillary development works. 6. All associated and ancillary development works relating to the development outlined, including works comprising or relating to permanent and temporary construction and excavation, site boundaries and landscape reinstatement works as well as all ancillary connections to electricity, telecommunications and water supply networks and site drainage. A Natura Impact Statement (NIS) has been prepared in respect of the proposed development and will be submitted to the planning authority with the planning application.
