The proposed works include: (a) demolition and removal of the redundant utility compressor room structure and ESB substation structure situated to the west and to the east of the Bannatyne Mill building respectively; (b) modifications to Bannatyne Mill building including: (i) internal modifications with limited removal of fixtures and fittings, (ii) provision of 3 no. projecting glass windows on the northern, southern and eastern elevations; (c) provision of associated signage; (d) provision of external plant including new ESB substation / utility building and raised heat pump enclosure; (e) modification to layout arrangement including; (i) widening of the existing eastern access including removal of stone piers; (ii) removal of section of boundary wall to Dock Road and replacement with new wall and railings; (iii) provision of on-site car parking and covered bicycle parking; (f) lighting; (g) surface water management including oil/petrol bypass interceptor; and (h) all associated site development works. Bannatyne Mill is a protected structure RPS Ref: 255 and is listed on the NIAH (National Inventory of Architectural Heritage) Schedule, ref no. 21516002.
